Putnam County VINE Coverage
Florida’s service is VINE, reached through Florida VINELink or by telephone at 1-877-846-3435. It is a status and alert layer. The reporting jail or corrections department remains the source of the underlying custody fact and is the only agency that can correct its record.
Florida Department of Corrections participation is verified. FDC says its VINE notices can cover release, transfer, escape, death, and out-to-court events. The Putnam research did not find a public PCSO page that names VINELink, however. Do not assume that a Putnam County Jail booking is covered. A live result must show “Putnam County Sheriff” or “Putnam County Jail” as Reporting Agency before the local record is treated as a PCSO-supplied VINE event.
If that local reporting-agency label is absent, use PCSO JAIL View for a county booking and release timestamp. Use FDC Release and Supervised Population for state prison. VINE does not cover BOP federal prison records or ICE custody as a substitute for their own locators. One person may therefore require more than one system after a transfer.
Coverage limit: FDC participation is confirmed, but Putnam County Jail reporting must be verified inside the live Florida VINE record.
Search Putnam County VINE Records
Start with the full first and last name. Florida VINE also permits an ID search and partial-name searches subject to minimum-character rules. A name alone can join the wrong person to an alert, so compare every available identifier. The reporting agency is especially important because it reveals which custody system supplied the status.
- Open the Florida page and choose the person search. Enter the full first and last name before trying a broader partial match.
- Use an inmate or offender ID when known. For an FDC case, the six-character DC number is the best public identifier.
- Open the matching record. Compare the ID number, photo when supplied, demographic details, and Reporting Agency.
- Read Custody Status, Supervision Status, and Record Details. Do not treat a search-list label as the whole record.
- If the date is missing, updates are unavailable, or the agency label is unclear, contact the named reporting agency and check its primary record.
A released or recently inactive result can confirm that the supplying agency changed status. Exact language, release-date display, and visibility period vary by agency. “Inactive” is not a universal legal term for discharge, and a VINE change does not explain the release method, court authority, or later transfer.

Putnam County VINE Release Fields
Not all fields appear for all records. Agency configuration and current status affect what is shown. A photograph may be supplied, but it is an identity aid tied to the reporting record. It does not prove the present location. A release date may also be absent even when a status has changed.

For a county release, the PCSO result supplies the booking number and exact released timestamp but generally omits how the person was released or where the person went. For an FDC release, the official profile can show a Release Date and incarceration history. Search the same DC number in FDC Supervised Population to determine whether state supervision followed the prison exit.
When PCSO data are needed beyond the timestamp, contact Records at records@putnamsheriff.org or 386-329-0822. A narrow request can identify the full name, birth date if known, booking number, and approximate dates, then ask for the booking record, commitment-and-release entry, release method or code, releasing authority, and transfer or destination record. That request fills gaps in the county record. It does not ask VINE to create facts that its reporting agency did not supply.
Note: A VINE status change is strongest when the reporting agency, person identifier, and official custody record all agree.
Register Putnam County Release Alerts
Open “Get Notified” only after confirming the correct person. Available methods can include telephone, text, email, or an in-app alert, but the menu depends on the supplying agency. Use two channels when offered so one missed message does not become the only notice.
- Select “Get Notified” from the matched record and choose an offered contact method.
- Enter the phone number, text number, email address, or app destination and choose a language when the option appears.
- Create or confirm the four-digit PIN for telephone notices. Complete any verification code sent by the service.
- Save the registration confirmation and note the exact record and reporting agency used.
- When an alert arrives, open the official agency record and confirm the event, date, and custody source.
The FDC VINE/PIN form explains how telephone delivery works for its process. Calls repeat until the recipient enters the selected four-digit PIN. If no PIN was selected on that form, the last four digits of the telephone number become the default. Enter the PIN followed by the pound sign to acknowledge the event and stop repeat calls. Text and email messages do not repeat.

This FDC material confirms the state-prison notification layer. It does not establish that a particular Putnam County Jail record is reported through VINE.
Putnam County FDC Notification Records
Direct registration in VINELink and an FDC Victim Services record are separate processes. The FDC victim form is limited to the victim or family-representative process it describes and directs other users to VINE. Signing up on a public VINE record does not automatically create an FDC Victim Services file.
FDC Victim Services lists 1-877-884-2846 on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. General VINELink support is 1-866-277-7477. Use service support for registration trouble, but use the reporting agency for a questioned custody fact. VINELink cannot rewrite a PCSO or FDC record.
The distinction prevents a common error. A person may receive a direct VINE notice without being part of the formal FDC victim-notification process, while a formal record may carry duties or event coverage defined by that program. Keep each confirmation and follow the instructions for the process actually used.
Registration choices can differ even between records in the same state. One agency may offer telephone and email while another adds text or in-app delivery. The record controls the available menu. If a destination changes, update the registration rather than assuming a prior phone number or email follows the person’s custody record. Retain the confirmation so service support can identify the alert if delivery fails.
Putnam County Release Notification Duty
Florida’s section 960.001 victim-notification law creates a release-specific safeguard for qualifying county or municipal jail cases. When the provision applies, the jail administrator must make a reasonable attempt to notify before release. If advance contact fails, another reasonable attempt is due within four hours after release, with written follow-up when telephone contact fails.
That statutory duty is not proof that the Putnam jail sends data to VINELink. Notification can occur through a distinct agency process. Nor does failure to locate a VINE record establish that no required effort occurred. The correct inquiry is whether the person and event qualified, which agency held custody, and what notice record that agency maintains.
This local layer is why the Reporting Agency field matters. It separates a statewide technology service from the legal duty and the source record behind a particular Putnam County release.
Confirm Putnam County VINE Alerts
For a Putnam County Jail event, compare the VINE notice with PCSO JAIL View. Select “Released Inmates Only,” search the name and release-date range, then record the booking and released timestamps. If the reason, destination, or releasing authority matters, request the existing booking and release records from PCSO Records. A status marked Released ends that PCSO booking but does not prove return to the community.
For a state-prison event, use FDC Inmate Release by DC number and check Supervised Population afterward. FDC release data update nightly, while complete population refreshes occur weekly except specified date and location changes. A VINE alert and an FDC date can briefly disagree during an update cycle. Confirm near the event with the Bureau of Admission and Release at 850-488-9167 or dc.release@fdc.myflorida.com.
Federal prison requires the BOP locator. ICE custody requires the ICE locator. The FDLE Sexual Offender/Predator Search applies only to people subject to that registration law and is not a general release database. These boundaries keep a Putnam County VINE inmate check tied to what its source can actually prove.
The FDLE registry can filter Putnam County and certain labels, including released subject to registration, FDC supervised, confinement, absconded, or deported. Those labels apply only within that statutory registry. They do not provide the PCSO release timestamp, and positive identity may require fingerprint comparison. A registry result should never be used to infer that all released people appear there.
Agency timing also matters. FDC says its release database updates nightly. Supervision and absconder data receive full weekly refreshes, with termination and location changes updated nightly. PCSO publishes no JAIL View refresh cadence. A short mismatch between systems calls for direct confirmation, not a choice based on whichever screen was opened first.
